Bobby Allan Straw, 66, of Elk river, died Sunday 3 Jan 1999 at home.
He was born in Woodstock Village, Pipestone, Minn to Almond Paul and Mabel (Schroeder) Straw and attended school in Pipestone.
He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from December 1950 to October 1954. While in the service, Mr. Straw received the Navy Occupation, National Defense, United Nations and Korean Service medals.
Mr. Straw married Marie Heath on 10 June 1961 in Monticello.
He enjoyed watching "Wheel of Fortune and "The Price is Right" and enjoyed the outdoors (hunting, fishing and yard work), taveling to Navy reunions and having coffee at the Sunshine Depot.
Service at Central Lutheran Church; interment was in Orono Cemetery. Pallbearers were his nephews: Marty, Joe and Rick Straw; Scot and Tim Gorham and Leon Trigg.
Survivors: wife Marie of Elk River; daughter Dee Ann Miller-Straw of Coralville, IA and Renee (Tim) Schleif of Coon Rapids; grandsons Christopher Miller of Coralville and Austin Straw of Elko, MN; brothers Darrel (Inez) of St. Cloud; Larry (Vivian) of Big Fork and Darwin (Shirley) of Monticello; and sister Sharon (Duane) Marsolek of Andover.
Preceding him in death were his brother Vergel and sisters Caroline Trigg and Betty Vartdal.
