Lillian Roberts, age 85, of Sarcoxie, MO died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at her home near Sarcoxie, MO. Mrs. Roberts was born in Pipestone County, Minnesota on Friday, December 30, 1927. She was the daughter of Layton and Mary (Pew) Straw. She married her husband, Kenneth Roberts, in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Mrs. Roberts served her country in the U.S. Army as an army nurse and was a school nurse for Pierce City Schools for many years. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are the following: two sisters, Louise Elizabeth Ott of Jasper, MO and Esther Rosemary Archer of Sarcoxie, MO; three brothers, Roy Straw of Carthage, MO, Layton LeRoy Straw Jr. of Stotts City, MO, and Albert Henry Straw of Stotts City, MO.
The family will receive friends at Cave Springs School, near Sarcoxie, on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM. Mike Straw will have services at 1:30 P.M. at the school with graveside to follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery there at the school.
