Marvin Bagley Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Sat., July 26, for Marvin Edwin Bagley, 85, Madison, who died on July 22, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in S i o u x Falls. The Rev. Steve White will officiate in Church of the Nazarene at Madison, and burial with military honors will be in Prospect Cemetery, rural Chester.
The Rev. Keith Bundy will provide music.
The family will be present on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Ellsworth Funeral Home, and visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bagley was born on Nov. 10, 1928, at Franklin to Paul and Alfaretta (Aumburn) Bagley. The family moved to Madison in 1934 and he served in the U.S. Army from 1950-52 in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Ruth Helen Straw on Aug. 22, 1953, at Madison. He received his GED and graduated from Southeast Area Vo-Tech in 1972. He was self-employed in appliance repair in the Madison area all his life.
He was a member of the Madison American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Madison; two daughters, Connie (Mike) Morris of Olathe, Kan., and Sandy Jensen of Madison; two sons, David (Brenda) Bagley of Gillette, Wyo., and Tom (Julie) Bagley of Newman Grove, Neb.; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Lanette) of Harrison, Tenn., and Ken of Sioux Falls; and two sisters, Mildred Story of Sioux Falls, and Shirley (EJ) Laughlin of New Market, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin; and a son-in-law, Jerome "Punk" Jensen.
