. I think you are probably right about Melinda being Wm's daughter - based on the proximity of the burials etc. If so her father Wm. Colby who m. Mary Hildreth was the s/o Wm Davis Colby (s/o Isaac Anthony Colby and Sarah Davis) and Elizabeth Straw. (Wm1; Samuel 2; Jonathan 3; Elizabeth 4)
Samuel B. Straw's lineage as follows:
(Wm1; Samuel 2; Jacob 3; Levi 4; Samuel B. 5)
I guess that makes Elizabeth Straw Colby and Samuel B. 2nd cousins?

Melinda/Malinda Colby could be a sister to Wm Colby (s/o Wm and Mary Colby) who married Eliza Barrett and a d/o Wm Colby who m. Mary Hildreth. Her DOB makes her a likely child of the older William Colby

Malinda COLBY was born in 1807 in New Hampshire. She appeared on the census in 1850 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine. She died on 11 MAR 1852. Parents: William COLBY and Mary Darling HILDRETH
She was married to Dr. Samuel B. STRAW in OCT 1824 in Hopkinton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Children were: Lendone S. STRAW , William C. STRAW , Wentworth STRAW
