Per recollections of A.F. O'Connor:
This was a sister of his mother and married to Martin Carroll. They never had children and Martin was away at sea for long periods of time. [There are two Martin Carrolls who married Brewers..Mary married a widowed Martin Carroll in 1896 and Elizabeth Brewer married a Martin Carroll in 1916 and both of these women did have children by husbands [Martin Carroll.] One of the witnesses at the Carroll/Brewer marriage of 1896 was Jane Ann Brewer [ A. F's mother] which suggests a strong relationship between the two women]

Elizabeth married Martin Carroll on 27 Nov 1916 in St. Kyran's, Newfoundland. (Martin Carroll was born in 1887 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, died in 1972 and was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Holyrood, Newfoundland.)
