"A list of Revolutionary soldiers, made from a pay roll for years from 1778-1785 who were noted chiefly for service on the Frontier, names credited by counties, contains the name of Jacob Harpster in George Overmeier’s Company, Northumberland Co, PA, Militia. Matthew Wilson's Company list contains the names of Jacob Harpster and, also, those of David and John."
