"The sadest event that has occurred in Towanda in years, was the sudden death of Frank Straw. He grew from a little boy to manhood and recieved his education here. He married Miss Verna Cupp daughter of Dan Cupp who survives him as does three sweet little children and his aged parents Mr and Mrs Julius Straw who are in very poor health.

Frank married Carrie Vern Cupp, daughter of Daniel Hagar Cupp and Sarah Catherine Mailen, on 22 Mar 1895 in Towanda, Butler County, Kansas. (Carrie Vern Cupp was born on 14 Apr 1875 in Towanda, Butler County, Kansas, died on 7 Dec 1928 and was buried in Towanda Cemetery Towanda, Butler County, Kansas, USA.)
