Passing of Mrs. Alice (sic) Newhouse
Mrs. Olive Newhouse, widow of Michael Newhouse, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Wagner, 518 West Charles Street, Bucyrus, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the age of 85 years, and 18 days. The deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis over two years ago, and from which she never recovered.
Olive Johnson was the maiden name of the deceased. She was born on a farm near this city, April 21, 1839, the daughter of Henry and Olivia Johnson. Following her marriage to Michael Newhouse, the couple removed to North Robinson, where she was a resident until six years ago, when she went to Bucyrus to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wagner. Surviving the deceased are three children: Mrs. A. S. Tracht of Los Vegas, Nevada; Lawrence Newhouse and Mrs. Wagner, of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Levi, Dewitt, and Aurelia Tracht, Mrs. Dean Bingham, and Gladys Newhouse; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Johnson of Crestline. Three children preceded her in death.(James and Benjamin and gender of third child unknown.)
Friends wishing to view the remains may call at the Wagner home Sunday evening from 7 to 8 o'clock. Private funeral services will be held from the residence, Monday afternoon at 2'oclock.
