bullet  General Notes:

Research shows a DAN'L b c. 1809 and died 13 Jan 1858. he is buried in either Oak Hill Cem or Chandler Cem in Wyandot, OH; he is listed under both.Is he a s/o Rowell Colby Straw? Or is he a s/o Simeon and Patty Straw?. The 1820 census for Deacon David does not allow for Daniel as a son but the 1810 census for Rowell Colby Straw does.... as does the census of Simon/Simeon for 1830...I found Rowell Colby's grand-daughter also buried in Chandler Cemetery [d/o Rowell's son Charles] It may indicate a relationship there.
Since there is no indication Rowell Colby Straw ever went to OH it seems Simeon is the more probable father, Simeon did name a son Pitt which indicates some connection with Pitt twp in Ohio where Deacon David and sons lived in 1840.
I can't locate Rowel in the 1820 census. [The Grafton County census records were lost] I can't find any evidence of the 1820 census for Simeon [Perhaps also lost?] I will leave Daniel as a s/o Simeon Straw unless I can obtain documentation otherwise.

obit - courtesy of D. Young "On the 13th inst, Daniel Straw, of Mifflin Township, Wyandot County O...After suffering ten or twelve days from an attack of Typhoid fever, he passed that borne from which no traveler returns.....The deceased was a native of Vermont, from whence he removed to this state some twenty-one years ago. As a neighbor he was kind and obliging and his loss will be severely felt and regretted. As a Justice of the Peace (which office he held ever since the organization of this county) he had the praiseworthy faculty of settling difficulties between his neighbors in the most satisfactory manner. In his death the Democratic Party have lost one of its most reliable members, and its leader in Mifflin township....He was a good husband and affectionate father and leaves a wife and six children [dau Elizabeth must have died young before death of her father] to mourn their irreparable loss."
