In the circuit court of Elkhart county Indianan March 1896 term
Edwin Seeley and Amelai H. Seeley VS Hannah Gore and Seth E. Straw
The plaintiffs [Seeleys] filed a complint agains defendents [Gore and Straw] for quiet title and cancel mortgage and that they[defendants] are "heirs at law" of recently deceased Philo M. Seeley. This notice serves to notify the defendants since they are non residents fo thes State of Indiana. they are to appear in court in March and if they do not, said complaint witll be heard and determined in their absence.
[Edwin is Philo's son and Amelia is Edwin's wife; Hannah (Seeley) Gore is a daughter of Philo and sister to Edwin. Seth E. Straw is Philo's grandson, the son of her daughter Melissa. Philo is Philavillan M. (Kellogg) Seeley and was married to Benjamin T. Seeley who died in 1875.]
