(Have obit and photos) obit highlights: Dora Straw Kentner She was the d/o Mr and Mrs Chester Straw. Born near Eldorado, Butler County, Kansas on June 6, 1880. At an early age she accompanied her family to Oklahoma and later lived near Alva (OK). Returned to Kansas in the early Twentys. Resided in several communities (including McPherson) before moving to Holsington, KS. Returned to McPherson in 1947. Her hsuband (Mr. Kentner) died in May of 1947 and she also lost an infant daughter (no dates). Dora died in McPherson Hospital on 20 April 1963. Family lore also claims Dora had a son Peter born 1897 when she was about 16 or 17 yrs of age. Peter was raised by her parents [Chester and Susan Straw] and appears in the 1900 census as their "grandson." Thus far there is no documentation to prove this. Peter's Draft registration indicates "parentage unknown." In the census of 1910 the notes say that Dora & George had had 9 children, 5 of whom were living in 1910. George had two sons by his first marriage, he and Dora had 5 living children and they lost one daughter in infancy. Peter would be the 9th child.
