received 13 April 2004 via e-mail: D. Krob "I have Chester M Straw marrying Susan Dawson on Jan 1876. According to the 1880 census they had three children Wlliam, Addie, Rosetta. Sometime between 1880 and 1884 they first moved to Kansas and then sometime between 1890 and 1898 they moved to Oklahoma. I don't have exact years but according to a 1900 census three of their children were born in Kansas and the last one was born in Oklahoma also: In the 1910 census it says Frank instead of David, it also says Mary instead of Myrtle. My great grandfather was Frank David Straw he married Nancy Jane Sallee about 1916 and they are buried in Oklahoma. Frank and Nancy had the following children Chester, Beulah, Ruby, Lila, Betty, Frank Jr, Margie, and Irene(died as a baby) I had been looking for the names of Frank David's parents for years until I finally found them in a census record , and until I found your post the only thing I knew of Chester M's parents were that his mothers name was Flora. In one census it had Flavia in another it said Flora. Do you know which one is correct? Some questions that I have....How did Daniel die? and have you been able to prove that Daniel was the son of David Straw and Mary Cady? email me back , I would love to hear from you."

Dawson, born March 18,1857,in Ohio, on January 16, 1876 in Mifflin, Wyandot Co., Ohio They had 8 children: William Straw, born about 1874 in Ohio, died between 1900 & 1910, never married Addie B. Straw, born about 1876 in Ohio, married John Robertson, the son-in-law involved in Chester's death. Then married James W. Johnson and lived in New Mexico. Date of death unknown Rose Etta Straw, born April 27,1878 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, married Roy Wymore on July 30,1916 in Pawnee, OK. Died Feb 2, 1956, in Ponca City, Kay Co., OK (have her death cert & obit & some photos) Dora Straw, born June 6 1880 in El Dorado, Butler Co., KS. Married George Albert Nicholson Dec 8, 1898, in Alva, Woods Co., OK. They divorced in 1915 in Douglas Co., Nebraska. Dora then married Clarence Kentner, who died in 1947. Dora died on April 20, 1963, in McPherson, KS. (Have obit and photos) Charles Albert Straw, born Aug 8, 1885 in Kansas and died on Dec 8, 1918 Grace May Straw, born July 21, 1888 in Pratt Co., KS. Married Joseph McCaffree about 1907. After his death she married Frank Young about 1917. After they divorced she married Ray Jones. They also divorced. She died Sept 1971in Worthington, Nobles Co., Minn. I have a lot more info on her since she was my husband's grandmother. Frank David Straw, born July 26, 1890 in Kansas. Married Nancy Jane (Nannie) Sallee. He died July 27, 1962 in Alfalfa Co., OK (I have obit and photos) Mary Grace Straw, born December 1898 in Kansas. Married to William Schwab and Charles Clark. This cemetery is located 3 miles north and 8 1/2 miles west of Cherokee or east of Alva on Highway 64 on the north side of the highway.
