Kate M. Parish, of 411 Park Blvd. Marion, Ohio, died at her home Monday, September 20 after an illness of one year. She was 73 years of age Mrs. Parish was born August 6, 1875 in Wyandotte County, the daughter of Daniel and Anna Morrow Straw, the father a native of
Wyandotte County and the mother of Penn County.
She was married to George Parish on November 28, 1892 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, who preceded her in death six years ago.
She is survived by two brothers Harry Straw, of Marion, Ohio, and Charles Straw, of Elkhart, Indiana and one sister, Mrs. Marie Strineman, of Marion, Ohio. Three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Parish was a member of the LaRue Baptist Church. She was one of Marion's most active lodge and patriotic organization) members She held offices in nearly every organization with which she was identified, and served as head of many of the orders. She held membership
in the Marion Chapter of the Moose, heart Legion, the Women's Benefit Association of Paramount Council No. 37, Daughter of America, and Harmony Circle, Post Councilor;
Association of Paramount, Corporal Harris Chapter No. 85, G. A. R Minnetonka Council No. 24 Degree of Pocahontas and was affiliated formerly with Canby Temple No152, Pythian Sisters and Wayside Rose Rebekah lodge. Mrs. Parish lived near LaRue until 1917 at which
time she moved to Marion.
Funeral services were conducted Wedlnesd'ay afternoon, September 22 at 2 p. m. in the Hastings Funeral home, Richwood, by 'RevLawrence Jones, of Kenton. Burial was made in Price cemetery. Edgar Hastings funeral.director in charge.
