"Died at his residence in this city at 11 o'clock pm on the 17th day of December 1880, Timothy Straw who was born at Hopkinton, NH on the 15th day of Sept 1797.
About 69 yrs ago he married Joann J. Silver who survives him.....In May 1835 he came with his family to this county where he resided up to the time of his death. He had 4 children, three of whom preceeded him to the grave; one Samuel D. Straw remaining to revere his memory ...[here follows a testamonial of quite some length as to his character..." a good old man has died."] Funeral services held at Presbyterian church at Edwardsburg (many of his relatives having been buried at Edwardsburg) tomorrow (Sunday)"
