"Erma was a factory worker. She suffered from muscular dystrophy and was unable to work the last 20 years of her life. Died following a second stroke."
She is listed under both surnames: Burkholder and Gross
Erma Mae Gross, 79, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, where she resided for the last 13 years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Susie Neff, Beverly Yoder and Diane Smith. One sister, Lucille Kurtz. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nehews.
Erma was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Burkholder, her parents, Hubert Sr. and Goldie (Fissgus) Straw; brothers Hubert Jr., Daniel, Glenn, Carl, Wayne and Joseph; her twin sisters Mary Gay and Lois Irene Collins;
She was retired from Johnson Controls where she worked for many years.
She enjoyed singing, dancing, painting and putting together puzzles.
Before her failing health and being confined to the nursing home she was a member of the Moose Lodge in Goshen.
A memorial sevice will be held at First Baptist Church, Goshen, Saturday July 21, 2012.
