It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo V. Power announce his passing at his residence in Stephenville on Friday, November 5th, 1999 at the age of 74 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Mary (Mae) and two brothers: Tom (Lillian) Power in Stephenville Crossing, Louis Power in Stephenville and three sisters: Margaret (Maggie) Power and Dorothy (Edward) Dunne, all in St. John's, Marie Besco in Toronto and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Joseph, Redmond, Michael and one sister, Beatrice Ozon. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stephen's Parish on West Street, Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street in Stephenville.

Leo married Mary "May" Whelan, daughter of William Whelan and Martina Alice Curley. (Mary "May" Whelan was born in 1914 in Bay of Islands, Newfoundland, Canada, died on 18 Oct 2001 in J. I. O'Connell Centre - Corner Brook, Newfoundland and was buried in Hillside Interfaith Cemetery - Stephenville, Newfoundland.)
