Lonnie Ray Straw, Jr., 39, of Dauphin, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 in University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was born in York and was the son of Lonnie Ray and Alexis Kay Casele Straw.
Lonnie was employed with Goodwill Industries where he was a custodian at the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg.
He was a participant in The Big 33 Buddy Program and Special Olympics.
Lonnie loved sports and devoted his whole life to watching and participating in sports.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters: Andrea (Anthony) DiMattia of Old Forge and Shannon (Ryan) Pechart of Millerstown; his niece: Torre DiMattia; his nephews: Mason Morrison and T. J. DiMattia; his maternal grandmother: Catherine Casele of Dauphin; his paternal grandfather: Simon Straw of Piketown; his aunts and uncles; his cousins; and, his most beloved fiancé: Melissa Holt.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 05:00 - 07:00 PM in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Incorporated, 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. A Memorial Service will begin at 07:00 PM with Pastor Peter Kuebler officiating.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
