Probable son of Jonathan with brothers Reuben, Joseph and Jonathan; married a Rolfe and there were Rolfes in Deering in 1790. His son Walter married a Preston and lived in Hillsborough. His grand dau is bur in the Deering Cemetery. Also his probable half brother David also lived in Weare. NH and connects nicely with time frame and place.
He is the probable James STRAW who served in the War of 1812 under Steele. Also serving under Steele was Samuel STRAW
