IGI files; gen of EST 1897; History of Garland, ME (Oak). Jeremiah was one of a group who went to Garland, ME in 1805. He may have returned and married and then returned to Garland, ME. In 1805, Jeremiah Flanders started from Hopkinton, NH, for Lincolntown (Garland) ME. He purchased land in 1807. In 1809, he built a house which he occupied until 1822, when he built a two story house. This was among the first of the two-story buildings in town. He was a member of the Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, organized in Garland, Jan 24, 1822. In 1828, he was a selectman and an assessor. The Flanders Family by Edith Flanders Dunbar.
