In 1850 Weathersfield, VT there is a Solon Divoll age 26; farmer living in HH iof Joshua and Gratia Durant. There is also a Frances M Strow age 29 and b. 1821 VT living with Elizabeth M. Strow [who is most likely the widow of Reuben Straw Jr who died in 1845]. There is a 7 mos old infant also in HH named Selwin J. Strow. By 1853 they were living in Dane County, Wisconsin
I believe Frances to be the d/o Reuben Straw Jr and Elizabeth [McEwen]. She appears to be living with her mother in 1850 and reverts back to maiden name [ or the census taker assumed that as the d/o Elizabeth Strow she would have the same surname?] and has a 7 mos old son with her. Solon is living elsewhere. Since the baby died in 1851 she could have returned to her mother for assist. The census taker may have inadvertently given Frances her mother's surname in error. The baby's death record clearly records him as s/o Solon and lists his surname as Divoll.
