Lucinda Staples born 13 Sept 1800 in Newfield, ME the d/o David and Catherine (Cate) Weeks Staples ( per IGI Researcher: JUDITH BRIDGES SMITH 1471 LOCUST DRIVE
TRACY CA ) [this does not appear to be the correct Lucy Staples as Lucinda Staples married in 1822 to Levi Merrill and appears with him consistently in the census through 1870]

Since she does not appear in the 1860 census with Gideon and members of the Staples family are living with him, it can be assumed Lucy has died?

Lucy married Gideon Straw, son of Enoch Straw and Elizabeth "Eliza" Blaisdell, on 18 Nov 1827 in Newfield, York County, Maine. (Gideon Straw was born on 17 Dec 1803 in Newfield, York County, Maine, died in 1870-1880 in Maine and was buried in Carpenter Cemetery in Waterboro, Maine.)
