My father moved from Davis Cove, Placentia Bay to Point-au-Mal, a very small outport outside of Stephenville, when he was three years old. His Parents (Joseph/Laura) and Grandparents (Mary-Jessie/John) also relocated with him. I know that Mary-Jessie Brewer and her husband John Hynes (my great grandparents) are buried in Point-Au-Mal.

Passed peacefully away on September 7th, John Hynes, in his 85th year, formerly of Point Aumall [sic]. Leaving to mourn their sad loss, his wife Mary Jessie, nine daughters, Chris (Mrs. Paul Motto) Massachusetts, Anna (Mrs. Leo Barry), Laura (Mrs. Joe Green), Nora (Mrs. Ray Keeting [sic]) all at Stephenville; Selena (Mrs. Simon Hickey) Davis Cove, Placentia Bay, Theresa (Mrs. Hipditch) Placentia, Mary Jane (Mrs. James Emberley), Rita (Mrs. Robert Hayes) with whom he resided, and Sister Mary Bertrand, Assumption Convent, St. John's; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hickey, Southern Harbour; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a large circle of friends. Funeral on Tuesday, September 10th, from Caul's Funeral Home to St. Patrick's Church with Requiem Mass at 9.30. Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

John married Mary Jessie Brewer, daughter of Michael Brewer and Selina Gaulton, on 28 Dec 1905 in St. Kyran's, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. (Mary Jessie Brewer was born on 24 Mar 1883 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, christened on 14 Apr 1883 in Davis Cove, Newfoundland, died on 24 Sep 1968 in Newfoundland, Canada and was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery - Point au Mal, Newfoundland.)
