HAYES, Rita (nee Hynes) - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home surrounded by her family, on Thursday, July 7, 2005. Rita Hayes (nee Hynes) of Coronation Street, age 95 years, 7 months. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bert), September 3, 1986 and sons: Robert, 1937 and Wayne, 1953. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her three daughters: Mary, Elizabeth and Carmel; five sons: Bill (Lydia), John (Kay), Pat (Donna), Mike (Linda) and Ed (Audrey); 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sister Bertrand (Presentation Convent) and Hannah Barry, Stephenville; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Father John Maddigan and the staff of 3 East & 3 West at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Friday 7-10 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, July 11, 2005 at a time to be announced from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to St. Patrick's Mercy Home.

Rita married Robert J. "Bert" Hayes, son of William Hayes and Elizabeth Miller. (Robert J. "Bert" Hayes was born on 25 Aug 1906 in Port Royal, Newfoundland, died on 3 Sep 1986 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery - St. John's, Newfoundland.)
