Laura Angeline "Angie" Mellen Wallace, 66
family beside her after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born November 22, 1941 to John and Helen (McCraney) Straw at Rapid City, S.D.
She moved to the Silver Valley area with her parents when she was 5 years old. She married Earl Mellen in 1958 at Superior, Mont. They made their home in the Silver Valley where she was a homemaker and raised her family. Her husband died in 1974. She married Wesley Wallace in 1978. She moved to St. Maries in 1995. She was divorced in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, camping and cooking. She was an avid bird watcher.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-n-law: Jim and Doris Mellen of St. Maries, Tim and Debbie Mellen of Kellogg and her son Don Mellen of St. Maries; her daughter Patricia Mellen of St. Maries, and daughter and son-in-law Betty and Dennis Christensen of North Pole, Alaska. Also surviving are her brother and his wife, John "Sonny" and Cindy Straw of Smelterville; and sisters: Mary Mellen and husband Dale and Joan Hubbard both of Superior, Mont.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Wesley Wallace II in 1995 as well as by sisters, Leola Straw and Geraldine Mellen, and both of her parents.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Pinehurst Assembly of God New Hope, 1008 S. Division, Pinehurst with the Rev. Fred Connell officiating. Interment will be next to her son Wesley at Shoshone Memorial Gardens, Pinehurst following services.
The family suggests memorial to either the Shriners Hospital for Children P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472, or Hospice of Benewah Co. 702 College Ave. St. Maries, ID 83861. Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries is entrusted with arrangements.

Laura married Earl Ernest Jones Mellen, son of Ernest Earl Jones and Imogene Orrison, on 24 Aug 1958 in Superior , Montana. (Earl Ernest Jones Mellen was born on 15 Jan 1935 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, died on 12 Jul 1974 in Kingston, Idaho and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Shoshone County, Idaho.)
