Here is some additional information that I have on some of my Straw ancestors. (Unfortunately, some of it is conflicting but that adds to the mystery and is cause for more research.) My Dad was Robert T. Straw .............I have the following information on his father which was gathered by me at the Lebanon, NH town hall in 1975: Leon Edwin Straw born: Sept 5, 1894 died: April 24, 1950 son of Edwin Straw and Emma (Stevens) Straw. I have anectodal evidence that they were from Lyme, NH. Veteran of WWI. Occupation: Optometrist and Optician Married Mildred (Tucker) Straw who was born Oct. 4, 1897 and who was the daughter of Herbert L. Tucker and Gertrude (Spofford) Tucker who was from Keene, NH. Herbert had a colorful career as Superintendant General of the Co.. Electric Light Companty as well as being high up in the Lebanon Fire Dept. I also have discharge paper for Leon Straw from the army in Europe after WWI (at present they are at my sister's house). Leon and Mildred had two children that I am aware of; Natalie and Robert. Natalie married Robert "Bud" Sertl and they had three children: Patricia, David and Douglas. Mildred lived for many years after Leon died in an apartment abutting the town common in Lebanon and worked at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH. As far as I know she never had a driver's license and relied on public transportation to commute from Lebanon to Hanover (something few of us would ever consider today). My dad grew up in Lebanon, NH and was popular in High School, being the class VP and excelling in sports such as skiing and football.

Leon married Mildred Tucker, daughter of Herbert L. Tucker and Gertrude Spofford, on 4 Sep 1920 in Lebanon, New Hampshire. (Mildred Tucker was born on 4 Oct 1897 in Lebanon, Grafton County, New Hampshire, died on 21 Jan 1987 in Schenectady County, New York and was buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Lebanon, New Hampshire.)
