SCOTIA -- Natalie Straw Sertl, 78, of Spearhead Drive, Scotia, formerly of East Glenville, died in Ellis Hospital on Thursday, March 16, 2000. Born in Hanover, New Hampshire, Mrs. Sertl was a graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, NH in 1939. She graduated from Keene Teacher's College (NH) in June 1943. Mrs. Sertl, before getting married, taught Home Economics at West Lebanon High School and coached girl's basketball at West Lebanon High School. She was married on August 24, 1946 at the First Congregational Church in Lebanon, NY. She moved to Scotia in 1952. An avid sport enthusiast, Mrs. Sertl was active with the Eagle Crest Women's Golf League, the Burnt Hills Belles and the Beaux Bowling League and played in several local (Scotia-Glenville, NY) bridge groups. Her husband, Robert Sertl, died in 1990. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hagen of Colonie, NY; two sons, Douglas L. Sertl of New Paltz, NY and David C. Sertl of Broomfield, CO; one brother, Robert T. Straw of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Calling hours Sunday afternoon, 2-4 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions to one's favorite charity, in Natalie's name, would be appreciated.
