Billings Woman Dies of Apoplexy; Mrs. Maggie Straw stricken at dance.
Mrs. Maggie May Straw, 67, a Billings resident 13 years, died at 11 PM Saturday of apoplexy at a dance sponsored by a local organization at 107 North Twenty-Seventh street. She was the widow of John William Straw, former Forsyth police chief, and had lived at 3 Jefferson St.
She was born Jan 8, 1874 at Council Bluffs, Iowa and was married July 5, 1888 to Mr. Straw at Spearfish, SD. They came to Montana in 1881 and settled on a ranch on the Rosebud River.
Mr. and Mrs. Straw lvied there until 1905, when they moved to Forsyth. They came to Billings in 1923. Mr. Straw died here March 19, 1938 and was buried at Forsyth.
Mrs. Straw was a past president of Ladies Militant of Billings, a past noble grand Marguerite of the Forsyth Rebekah Lodge and a past oracle of the Royal Neighbors of America at Forsyth.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Joseph Kuhn of Worland, WY; five sons, Elmer O of Fullerton, CA, Harry A. of Billings, John C. of Baker, Orrel N. of route 3 Billings and Wm R. Straw of Forsyth; 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.

Maggie married John William Straw, son of Orrel Hamilton Straw and Sarah E. Larkin, on 5 Jul 1888 in Deadwood, Lawrence County, SD. (John William Straw was born on 4 Aug 1867 in Milan, Sullivan County, MO, died on 19 Mar 1936 in Billings, Yellowstone County, MT and was buried in Forsyth Cemetery - Rosebud County, Montana.)
