Find A Grave Memorial #76444062 Edwin Jones was the youngest child of Mary and John W Jones. He was born on April 20, 1876. Ben chose not to go into farming, so his father sent him to study pharmacy at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated in 1898. His uncle Evan Meyrick Jones had a pharmacy (Jones & Olds) in Wells, Minnesota. Wells was a prosperous railroad hub at the time. Ben joined this business after he graduated from college. Shortly thereafter Benjamin married Florence A. Straw a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Straw on September 6, 1900. They had four children Frederick Edwin 1901-1999 Donald Straw 1904-1975 Florence Gwendolyn 1906-1987 Benjamin Edwin, Jr. 1919-1944 Ben moved to Bismarck, ND shortly after his marriage and was the first registered pharmacist in Bismarck. His drug store was located at the site of the luxury Patterson hotel. By 1912 Benjamin Edwin had become an agent for New York Life. He dealt in both real estate and insurance. Ben contracted prostate cancer and died in Bismarck 1950.
