"....The person: Priscilla Straw, b. 1824, Ohio, m. 1843 wife of Timothy Hankins Young, Priscilla d. 1861 …
They had a daughter Mary A.G. [possibly Mary Ann/Maryann J. and not G.] Young, b. 1852 in Ohio.
What I didn't know… was when Timothy remarried to widow Elizabeth Musselman (Arter) Hill, Mrs. Hill brought her children by her first deceased husband, William P. Hill to the marriage. This was not apparent in the 1880 census, showing a Mary b. abt. 1854 Ohio. This girl had taken her step-father's name and was listed Mary Young.
That was MY ERROR making the assumption it was the same girl! WRONG.
Priscilla Straw's daughter, Mary A. Young, b. 1852 in Ohio, did marry Mr. Samuel W. Ewing, they had a long life, he out lived her, they died in Wyandot co. (I don't want to belabor details now, but I do have a great many more notes with full citations on this couple.) But these couple did NOT divorce, and they did have children. Mary A. (Young) Ewing stayed in close touch with her youngest sibling, ½ brother Everett Grant Young, b. 1866 Ohio.
The other Mary Hill Young, Timothy Young's step-daughter, followed her mother and ½ brother Everett G. Young to Stockton, San Joaquin Co., Calif., where she m. John Edward Williams. Mary (Hill-Young) Williams and E.G. Young stayed every bit as close, as Mary A.G.[J.] (Young) Ewing.
Again, I have now thoroughly researched this girl and learned a great deal about two girls, AND, I am pleased that I can provide proper analysis and citations for their now separated lives!"
