"Jacob and Lucy's second daughter Ida Louella, married John Wentworth in 1870. John was born in 1847 in Dover, NH. He journeyed to MO in 1868 and took a job with the civil engineer corps that was building the railroad. Upon completion of the railroad to Marshfield, he was appointed freight and ticket agent. John and Ida Louella's only child was a daughter who was born in 1873. Interestingly, Ida Louella also named her daughter Maude, as her oldest sister had done.
In late years there is no record of the Wentworths in Springfield. John worked as a superintendent for the rail road and in 1881 he was promoted to superintendent of the Kansas division of the St. Louis and Santa Fe railway. It is possible his job responsibilities took him away from the area. But no records have been located that reveal where Ida Louella spent her adult years." [Addenda of Jane O'Connor Foster: Ida Luella was living in DeSota, MO in 1900 and in 1910 and 1920 she was living in Colorado; Lived in Houston from 1924-28 where she died; informant on death record is Mrs J. L. Gaston of Houston, TX, Luella's daughter Maude (Mrs John Louis Gaston); Ida Luella also had a son Albert born 1885 in MO]
