bullet  General Notes:

Probaby the s/o Lawrence Straw and Judith Clough based on the following: (Research of R&D Peverley)"...they (Lawrence and Judith) were at New Durham (Alton), NH in 1803 when their son (Simon Clough Straw) was born, but subsequently removed to Barnston, Stanstead County, Lower Canada or Compton, Compton County, Lower Canada and according to family tradition the homestead was located on the line between Barnston and Compton. They were in the states in 1811, when a son (Ezra) was born in Vermont. They may have returned to Barnston as they are not found anywhere in the 1820 census. In the Gilmanton, NH 1830 Census: Lawrence Straw: one male 5 and under 10; one male 50 and under 60 (Lawrence) and one female 40 and under 50 (Judith). The child "5 and under 10" must be a son." (This child was born between 1820 and 1825. I believe this to be Col Jacob W. Straw born 1821)

This family originated in English Canada and migrated to Wisconsin. It is unknown where the family was living when daughter Josephine was born..perhaps VT or Canada East but the family was in Canada by 1851 as his second child was born there in 1851. Three more children were born in Canada from 1953-1856. By 1858 they were in WI as son John was born there at that time.
